5 ways i’m being intentional about selfcare this year

5 ways i’m being intentional about selfcare this year

My main focus this year is to prioritize selfcare. As a mom of a 3 year old and 2 year old I admit, I tend to neglect taking care of myself outside of the literal things that I need to survive. However, I did not just want to say I want to prioritize selfcare and then, well not do it. I wanted to make it an intention and then make a plan that was attainable to my current lifestyle.

Being ok with saying “NO”

To start, i’m going to learn the word NO. I admit i’ve gotten myself in a lot of shit because I say yes to everything. My intention is to say yes to things that will benefit me and my future, things that bring me joy, and things that I don’t have to sacrifice for. I have always felt that I had to say yes because it may make me look a certain way to others but at the end of the day it’s okay to set boundaries. I came to the realization that I cannot help everyone and I am not obligated to do so.

Taking time once a month to do something I enjoy…alone

Me time was put on the back burner after having my first son and was extinct after having my second son. Please don’t get me wrong, I LOVE MOMMY TIME. However, in order for me to be the best mommy I can be I need time to rest, time to think, time to ensure my mental health is in order. I used to feel guilty wanting to take a day for myself but my mindset shifted to me deserving this uninterrupted time. A few ways I plan to spend me time are:

  • Going to the spa
  • working at a coffee shop for the day
  • renting a luxury hotel suite
  • Taking a class on something I enjoy

Delegating tasks as needed

Ok ok I can’t do it all alone. There I admit it, I need help. I am so excited to finally make delegating tasks a priority in my life. Doing this will enable me more freedom with my children and more time to be creative in my businesses. Handing specific jobs to those who specialize in it is not only a time saver but also a great business move because the work is done right. A few tasks I plan to delegate:

  • Photography
  • YouTube editing when I open my channel back up
  • Marketing especially during holiday season
  • Social media management when I am out of office

Nourishing my body and mind properly

Is it just me or after you have kids does it seem like you only survive off of coffee and like one meal a day? Seriously, my eating habits have not been up to par in well…years. I want to prioritize eating healthier meals and eating 3 full meals a day. Maybe i’ll create some cooking content for a little accountability.

I also want to be intentional in prioritizing my mental health. With access to many platforms for therapy I want to take the steps to have a session at least once a month. For convenience I want to try out virtual therapy. Here are a few apps:

  • BetterHelp
  • Cerebral
  • Talkspace

Finding community

Lastly, I want to find a community of other moms and mompreneurs. In person or online. Just a group of women who are like me and just get it. After having kids maintaining friendships is important but I feel like we need people who get that we cannot navigate life like once before. Feel the same way? Let’s be friends! join my community through my email list or following me on social media @TheRayfancy so we can chat.

How are you taking care of yourself this year?

3 easy ways to make money as a mommy blogger

3 easy ways to make money as a mommy blogger

Making money with your blog is a long-term income strategy, not a get rich quick scheme. I get it, you may feel overwhelemed or frustrated because you are not making the money you thought you would. Especially when you log on the internet and everyone is bringing in 50k to 100k a month. In today’s post I want to go over 3 quick and easy ways to monetize your blog. It may not make you 100k overnight but it will bring you some income.

Here are these key focus areas for making money online:

  • Content
  • Traffic
  • Planning

Content is the foundation of your blog. Please please do not slack on this part. Do your research and make sure everything you publish is top notch. So many people start a blog thinking it’ll be easy to just throw some blog posts up and call it a day, but unfortunately that’s not how it works. Ever heard the saying “content is king”? “Content is king” is such a popular saying is because it’s really the foundation of your business no matter what industry you’re in. Content is what shows your product or service, testimonials, BTS and more. Content is the number one way to build trust with your audience.

*Here’s a pro tip: Creating a content schedule or setting up an editorial calendar will save you time.

Traffic is highly important when taking the steps to monetizing your blog. While it can take time to get eyes on your blog here are some steps you can take to increase your traffic:

  • Ensure your SEO is at its best this helps google prioritize your website.
    • Your blog title should be searchable and describe exactly what your post is about.
    • Utilize keyword throughout your post.
  • Prioritize Pinterest. Instagram is great but Pinterest is a bloggers best friend because it is a search engine. Pin your content and others content at least 3x a day.
  • Share on your other social media platforms.

Whether you have a large wave of traffic or not, make sure to have a place to stay connected to the visitors who enjoy your content such as an email list.

*Flowdesk is my favorite email marking platform and just for you , take 50% off your subscription https://flodesk.com/c/AUK2CX

PLAN TO PROSPER: Once you have written 15-20 blog post see what your audience likes most using google analytics and incorporate more of that content into your strategy to increase traffic.

To expand on google analytics you can see when people visit your website the most and use that information to create a posting schedule. For example, If your blog is viewed most on Mondays and Thursdays between 8am and 12pm then that is when you should post weekly. This way your readers will always know when to look forward to new content.

Ads

Yes, making money with ads (google adsense) requires a good amount of traffic (I always suggest them no matter how small your blog) but google ads aren’t the only ads. A lot of new bloggers charge for ad space on their websites sidebar this can range from $20+ based on your monthly views.

Ad networks require less work and they also have other bonuses such as higher earnings, and sponsorship opportunities. While most networks require high traffic here are some for new bloggers are:

  • Monumetric
  • Ezoic
  • Mom Select (While not direct ads you get a lot of sponsorship opportunities (My Favorite)

To get approved for an ad network such as Mediavine or AdThrive you need between 50k-150k to be approved. Do not skip out on smaller networks or google adsense because there are MANY bloggers making 6 figures without bigger ad networks.

Once you decide on the route you want to take, assess your blog and ensure that your readers experience is still pleasant.

Affiliates

Some bloggers make six figures from affiliate earnings alone, which is so amazing! The best part is, getting started with affiliate marketing is something you can do as a new blogger. I recommend getting at least 10-15 solid blog posts published. This is because most platforms want to see that you are consistent and established. Furthermore, people buy people so make sure your post are genuine and high quality content.

Imagine products you use in your everyday life that you love and would recommend to others. Think about products that will help make your readers’ lives or businesses easier. A few affiliate sites like Shareasale, Awin, and Impact Radius are great platforms. You can also reach out to companies and brands directly to see if they have an affiliate program you can join.

My favorite network outside of amazon is MagicLinks they are amazing for new bloggers and have so many opportunities outside of just affiliate marketing. They work with some of the most popular brands and the support is amazing!

Sign up for magicLinks here: https://www.magiclinks.com/rewards/referral/rayfancy/

Finally, If you’re an Amazon junkie like me then their affiliate program will be perfect for you. I’m always sending someone to amazon and lets face it just about everyone loves getting their products in 2 days.

Don’t forget only recommend products you have used and love!

Digital Products

Designing and selling my own digital products is one of my favorite ways to make passive income through my blog. You can sell ebooks, cheat sheets, a monthly membership, meal plans, or even courses, greeting cards, and more. There is literally so many possibilities with digital products and they are such a great form of passive income.

Remember, quality content opens up a world of opportunity in the blog world. Content that is honest and engaging to your audience will keep them coming back and build that trust factor.

What’s your favorite way to monetize your blog?

7 Ideas to Make Money as a Stay at Home Mom

Are you a mom who wants to make money without sacrificing time with your kids? As a stay at home mom, it may seem like working from home is dang near impossible because you may think you do not have a specific skill set. However, you more than likely already have these skills- or have the ability learn them for FREE online. In return you would earn money without leaving the house, sacrificing time with your family or be burdened with the cost of childcare. Sounds like a win right?

I’m going to give you some easy ways you can make money as a stay at home mom in 2022!

Selling Unused Items

So number one on my list is Decluttering things you do not need. We clean after the kids all day, why not make money in the process? Whether it be household items, kids clothing/toys, maternity clothing, pre-post pregnancy clothing, most moms have a ton to get rid of.

While this may be a short term cash solution for some, with further research you can turn this into a fulltime reselling business. Finding thrifted and wholesale items you can mark up for a profit will turn this side hustle into consistent cash.

For more discounted finds, check for wholesale liquidation stores, discount stores and even dollar tree in your area. A lot of items you find at big box retailers such as Amazon and Walmart, you will be able to find at a fraction of the cost. In fact, many liquidation centers sell perfectly good products by the pallet at a huge discount which will be great as your business grows. These items can then be resold on Facebook Marketplace or eBay.

Babysitting

As a mom you may already have your children home full or part-time, babysitting can be an easy money maker for you. What’s even better is that finding clients easy, just ask your friends and other family member who either work, or would like time away from their kids. Other ways to advertise your service is by advertising in local Facebook groups, local newspaper, and even schools.

The amount you charge should be based on the children’s age and also what your in home daycare will provide. Newborn and Infants tend to cost more because you have to change diapers and feed them. They overall require more hands on attention. However, older children are usually more independent especially if they are already feeding themselves and potty trained. While this is a great money maker it is also an opportunity to meet other mommy friends and for your kids to make friends as well.

Virtual Assistant

It’s no secret that we are living in a digital age. People are making fulltime livings working from home and it is the perfect opportunity for you to become a virtual assistant. No matter your skill level, you can still learn how to become a VA completely free with just a simple Youtube video search. Whether it is working for a blogger, influencer, or small business there is somebody that can use your skills. If you want longer term clients consider what you love to do and what you do well and market that skill.

Here are a few examples of jobs businesses pay VA’s to do: check emails, write content, social media management, update websites, photography, media outreach, recipe tester, and more. The best part about it? You don”t have to worry about a degree or corporate experience.

Blogging

Blogging is one of my favorite forms of income (Am I biased? lol) because it can be both active and passive. I’d suggest starting your blog in addition to another side hustle or work from home gig. It is not an overnight success thing. In today’s age many blogs out there are raking in thousands even hundreds of thousands each month with advertising, sponsorships, digital products and affiliate links. Affiliate links are special links that earn the blog owner a commission when a visitor clicks the link and makes a purchase but does not cost the buyer anything extra. Many bloggers report making a full-time income in as little as 6 months but for most it will take longer. If you want to monetize your blog quickly, I suggest applying for google adsense. Most people shy away from adsense but why miss out on income?

Photography

Whether you are tech savvy with the camera or willing to learn, there are many avenues in the photography world to make money! You can create stock photos to sell online, which bloggers, business owners and content creators can then purchase a license to use. You will then earn money each time your photo is purchased. You could also make this a local photography business, taking family portraits, graduation photos or even photographing important events like weddings or parties. Finally, in the age of so many small businesses opening, offer to take product photography.

Selling on Etsy

Are you crafty mama or have a love for vintage items? Consider selling your creations on Etsy.

Unlike our previously listed selling platforms (Mercari, Facebook, Ebay etc) people on Etsy will pay a premium price for handmade items. A few items that you can sell on Etsy are handmade jewelry, hair bows and accessories, sewing patterns, wreaths and ornaments, personalized items and more. If you are not the crafty type consider selling digital products such as mock ups, planners and printables.

Digital products and courses

Technology has been king in the sense of making money from home. One of the best ways to monetize your skills is through digital products and courses. You can create E-books, a course, templates, email courses and more. The most popular pricing for digital products and courses are $27, $37, $47, $97 and up for more intense courses. The best part is that these courses can be pre-recorded and made on demand making this a passive income stream.

There are so many ways for moms to make money online. My best advice is to always do what you love and what is profitable. From there you can work on building multiple streams of income centered around that skill.

I hope you all enjoyed this and do not forget to share share share.

How to Be stress free and mindful during the Holidays

How to Be stress free and mindful during the Holidays

The holidays can be a stressful time for anyone, and even more so after the events that have overhauled our lives over the past year and a half. When you have the responsibility of decorating, cooking, hosting, and gift buying it is easy to become overwhelmed especially for moms.

Having these issues arise around the most joyful times of they year can steal the holiday spirit. However, there are a few small things that you can change to help make this time less stressful.

What is Mindfulness?

It sounds complicated, but it really isn’t! Mindfulness is simply the act of focusing on the present moment you are in. You take out the judgment, regret, or guilt, and simply accept what is. The more you can be mindful during the holidays (and the rest of the year), the more grateful and stress-free you become.

1. Why Mindfulness During the Holidays Can Be Difficult

While I recommend that everyone practice mindfulness year around, it is important to understand challenges we may face on the journey.

What makes the holidays such a Challenge?

Understanding where the stress comes from helps you to know where to focus on improving your mindfulness this time of year.

So much to do, so little time – With so much to do and the holiday rush it is important to plan ahead. Planning will allow you to have an overview of everything you need to do. From there you can strategically plan dates and times to get things done instead of rushing at the last minute or taking on too much at one time. You can also better delegate tasks to other people if needed.

Choose a simple yet effect planner like this Holiday one here

Financial issues – Many people do feel the struggle of figuring out how to pay for decorations, gifts, parties, traveling, and other holiday expenses. Set a budget, write out the price for EVERYTTHING and then price match in stores and online. There’s nothing like finding items on sale and at a discount.

I enjoy getting cashback on my purchases especially during the holidays. I use Rakuten cashback and its as simple as signing up, installing the app on your browser toolbar and activating cashback every time you shop at no additional costs.

Sign up with my link here and get $40 after a $40 or more purchase you were going to make anyway!

The expectations are different from reality – Mindfulness really comes into play when you have done everything on your list and everything may not have gone exactly as planned.

The question, “ How cam Mindfulness Can Help me”? is probably running through your mind.

Exercising mindfulness during the holidays helps you stay grounded. It allows you to stay present to just enjoy the moments you get with your family, friends, spouse and children.

Seize the moment – Think of every moment you live as a gift. Let’s be real, it might not always be what you expect, it may not always be perfect but the holiday season is not about achieving perfection. Gratitude is the name of the game. Enjoy your friends, family, children and spouse.

Memories become treasures – Continuous aims at perfection causes the loss of creating tangible memories. Shift your focus to creating meaningful conversations, taking family photos, eating together, playing games and more.

2. How to Stay Present in the Middle of Chaos and Stress

It seems almost impossible, doesn’t it? In the mist of everything you may be dealing with try to find gratitude in the chaos even if it is just one thing. With just a few simple techniques and mindset shifts, you can be more mindful during the holidays:

  • Practice Beforehand
  • Create a morning or night routine
  • Journal your thoughts
  • Release Judgment and guilt
  • Have Mindful Meals
  • Focus on the Moment, Not the Big Picture

3. The aftermath

Once you have mastered being mindful during the stressful holiday season, it will become even easier to continue on with the habit. What better time than to continue into the new year.

Using Mindfulness for Your Resolutions

Many people choose resolutions for the new year. It is important to choose things that spark joy for you and not just what you think you should have based on common resolutions. Take time to be in tune with yourself and make a conscious decision on what you want to work towards the next year.

This is where mindfulness is going to be really useful.

A question for you – What are you thinking about the most right now? What is bringing you joy? What is stressing you out? Being mindful NOW is what is going to help form resolutions in the future.

Being Mindful Year-Round

After the holidays remember to: keep taking pauses, enjoying present moments, giving gratitude, and enjoying your life. The more you learn to be mindful during each of those moments in your life, the happier you will be.
